The Southern Districts Spartans are one of Queensland’s premier basketball clubs, renowned for their winning tradition, player development, and strong community spirit. Based in Brisbane, the Spartans have built a legacy of excellence, inclusivity, and success on and off the court.

 

A Legacy of Success

Formed through the merger of two powerhouse teams, the Generals and the Aliens, the Spartans have grown into a dominant force in Queensland basketball. Competing in top-tier leagues like NBL1 North and the Queensland State League (QSL), the Spartans consistently produce elite talent and championship-winning teams.

In 2024 alone, the club fielded multiple teams in the QSL1 and Youth League, securing titles in both Youth League Women's and Men's Division 2. Their commitment to developing young athletes ensures a constant pipeline of future stars, with many players advancing to professional and national levels.

The Spartans are more than just a competitive team – they are a basketball family. With programs ranging from elite representative squads to junior development, neurodiverse basketball, and community outreach initiatives, the club is dedicated to growing the game at every level.
